The Way We Are
Family:
I married Leni Brunner in 1969 at the beginning of our senior year at Earlham College. After medical school at Duke I was a pediatrician in the Army for 9 years. We traveled a lot and lived in Tacoma, WA, Germany and San Antonio before settling in Yakima, WA. Our children Kristina and Bruce are now grown, married and have our first grandchildren, Hannah (16 months) and Evan (1 month). My parents Homer and Lois (both 89) live near my brother Jim in Wheaton, IL.
Comments: I am a neonatologist, caring for premature and sick babies in the hospital. After 25 years in Yakima, many of these babies are becoming adults! A fulfilling experience. I have more time off now for travel (grandchildren in Missoula & Massachusetts), 40th anniversary in the Canadian Rockies, Sweden, Russia, Lithuania, Galapagos Islands, Tanzania, Zanzibar). Over a period of years we built a "retirement" house on the Hood Canal near Seattle. No retirement plans yet but Leni & I enjoy time off at Salish House doing gardening, woodworking and photography. The Northwest is a great area for hiking and camping and I hope that my body holds up for more outdoor adventures.

My siblings: Jim, Janie, Bob, Marc

I helped design and construct "Salish House"
My family in the new house: Bob, Leni, Hannah, Kristina,
