What some are saying about the reunion:
Thank you to all who planned and orchestrated the Yorktown High School 45th Reunion. The event was well done, and I think everyone had a wonderful time catching up with friends and enjoying the festivities. It was so much fun! Lois Thatcher
I just wanted to send a short note to express my great appreciation and delight to the class of 66 for maintaining their spirit and commitment to staying together after all these years. I have attended almost all of the reunions (missed the 10th) but I can honestly say this may have been the best yet due to the variety of venues and extended opportunities to be together. Special thanks to Betsy Thompson and the fantastic reunion committee and Susan Kreer for the wonderful webpage. For Buddy and his DJ mastery. Also, to George and Laura Price and John and Janet Weber for hosting us in their lovely homes. Even the weather held up for us. I greatly enjoyed catching up with old classmates and getting to know some for the very first time. For those of you who were not able to come, you were with us in spirit and we hope to see you in a future reunion! Bob Lapidus
I want to thank all those who were involved in the planning and running the reunion. It was a great time and I had a ball meeting so many past friends. Thank you, Paul Brown
. . . While we have gone in so many different directions, what a testament it is to our memories of those bygone days, that on cycle, as if by instinct, homing pigeons, we known where we belong. We've kept Arlington - and esp. YHS dear to our hearts, a special place in space and time, dear to our collective heart. It's those memories that keep bringing us back together no matter the physical distance between us. We remain, in the end, all part of one tapestry: YHS, Class of 1966.
. . . Thanks to each and every one of you for a truly wonderful weekend that exceeded all my expectations! The only things that could have made it better would have been the presence of one very special person. . . Larry Cherney
When I got involved in the website a year and a half ago, I knew only a handful of people close enough to call real "friends" from Yorktown. I recognized a whole lot of names, but I had been a short-timer in the public school system - just junior and senior years. So I have to tell you all that coming into the 45th Reunion, I had some serious trepidations. I was incredibly surprised at the warmth with which I was received, and came away feeling like what I had gained was a whole lot of new friends that I would really enjoy seeing again. Dont be surprised if I call you when coming through your neck of the woods, and please don't hesitate to call me if you are passing through San Francisco. Thanks to Betsy, and the committee for a great job and a lot of hard work really well done. Susan Gleason
Ditto! I'm sorry that anyone missed this one. It was the GREATEST!!! Not only was it fun to see or meet our classmates, but my husband and I enjoyed all the spouses too. Hope to see everyone in 5 years at the next one.
Thanks to everyone on the committee, you did a wonderful job!!!!!
Love to all, Vicky Bowman Easton
my wife and i had a great time at the reunion and was glad to see so many friends that i had had at yorktown. we all looked older, but most of us had the same fire inside that i remembered. thanks again to the people who set this up and to the prices for openening there home to us. Ken Embrey
I agree! It was wonderful. I'm still trying to get back to reality.
so glad I made the trip and got to see everyone. We sure are a beautiful 1966 class, aren't we!!!
Everyone ... please keep in touch! Frankie Bentley
I had such a great time! Thank you all.
Peri Peterson Wentworth
Thanks to all who worked on the reunion, especially Betsy Thompson, the reunion committee and George and Laura Price. I know it took a lot of time and effort to put together the three days of events. It really was terrific and I had a great time. It was good to talk with the people I knew, and with those I didn’t get to know in high school. I also enjoyed talking with the spouses. What a great group of people. I just wish there was more time to spend with individuals but that is the nature of all reunions. I also want to thank Susan Kreer for the website which greatly facilitated this reunion and is a means to keep in touch for future events. I hope the 50th is as good as this was. Bob Owen
I would like to express my thanks and appreciation to the reunion committee for all of their hard work and to George & Laura Price and John & Janet Weber for hosting our fantastic reunion events. It was wonderful to reconnect with old friends and to get to know other classmates better. Ralph & I had a great time! I hope that those of you who weren't able to come this year will be able to attend our 50th. Thank you, Alice Read Vanni
Since I didn’t get my bio done until after the reunion, I want to say how much I enjoyed the Reunion and seeing so many of my good buddies. I also want to thank Betsy and all the Reunion Committee members for all their hard work and doing such a wonderful, job to put the Reunion together. Thanks, too, to Mike and the Friday night get together, George and Laura and John and Janet for opening their homes so that we all could get together and Buddy for the great music, including the Carolina beach music! I’d also like to remember Maria who started this effort. She will always be in our memories. I look forward to seeing everyone and reminiscing YHS and the great Class of ’66 in 2016! Sandy Garman Vickers
Let me add my voice to the chorus singing praises for everyone involved in organizing the events and the very good website. I had an excellent time seeing and talking to our classmates, many of whom I hadn't seen since graduation - well worth hanging around in the USA for 8 extra days after my business meetings so I could attend. I'll do my best to make it to the 50th ! Cheers, Bill Morrow
