The Way We Are
Family: Been married to Don for 34 years – he came with a ready-made family of four; two boys (Mark and Matt) and two girls (Gretchen and Jennifer). The kids are grown and we’ve added five grandchildren (Sarah, Seth, Blake, Tyler and Carly) into the mix.
Many of you knew my family – my folks, Lora and Moe, live in a retirement community in Harrisonburg, VA, my sister, Audrey, is retired and living in Myrtle Beach, SC, my brother, Paul, resides with his family in Silver Spring, MD.
Comments: After spending a couple of years working with the U.S. Geological Survey in D.C., they transferred me to their offices in Menlo Park, CA in 1971. The USGS was a fantastic place to work but, in 1995, after 25+ years, I took an early retirement. We’ve always sailed on the San Francisco Bay, first with our Cal 2-29 and then on our Catalina 36. Beyond the SFO Bay, we would sail to the Sacramento Delta waterways or out the Golden Gate north to Drakes Bay or south to Half Moon Bay or Monterey. Now we are boatless and have time to do some traveling. We’ve taken a road trip to Don’s home state of Missouri and visited friends in Oregon, Washington and Vancouver Island in Canada.
