The Way We Are
After graduating from Yorktown I married our classmate, Tom Kirchner and we divorced in 1987. We have two children. My son, Tommy, is now a Residential and Commercial Real Estate Appraiser and Real Estate Agent. He is married to Valerie, a Real Estate Broker and Appraiser. They gave me two adorable grandsons, Tommy III and Christopher. My daughter, Kristen, has lived in LA for 20 years and has been on two TV shows, “Murder in a Small Town X” on channel 5, and was a candidate on Donald Trump’s “The Apprentice”, season four. She has produced a movie “Wreckage” that is currently in distribution but her real job is a Mortgage Loan Officer/Financier. My Father passed when I was 17 and my mother never remarried. She is now 94 and is doing GREAT! She is the foundation of our family and I love her so! She was a real estate broker and has been a mentor to all of us.
As for me, I have resided in Northern Virginia for my entire life. I pursued my dream I had from childhood of owning horses. From the mid 1980’s to early 1990’s I owned an equestrian center called Sounds of Silence Farm in Fairfax Station. In this venture, I boarded horses, gave riding lessons, broke and trained horses to compete on the National Hunter Jumper Circuit. My specialty was Dressage and my daughter was the Hunter Jumper expert. This was a great experience. After Tom and I divorced, I became a general contractor, building houses in Fairfax Station and had to close the Equestrian Center. I married Rick Curtin in 1991. He has twins, a married daughter, who is an attorney and son who is in restaurant management.
I have been in real estate since 1972, previously worked in corporate level sales and marketing management for New Home Builders and in residential real estate. I own my own small Real Estate Company Flexable Real Estate Solutions “Flexible Fees and Services”. I have about 10 agents working for me. I am enjoying having more free time for my new job – MAKING THIS NEXT REUNION A HUGE SUCCESS!
