The Way We Are
Comments: After graduating from the University of Kentucky in 1970 with a degree in Microbiology, I married John Dansby from Ashland, KY. We actually met in Washington, DC area while he was stationed there during the Vietnam War. I went on to get my master's degree in biological science and then went on to medical school graduating in 1983. I did a residency in pediatrics and then set up a private practice in Ashland; later bringing in two partners. John and I have been married 40 years and have two sons (Andrew 38 and David 35). We have three adorable grandchildren (Hazel, Archer and Mary Tighe) living in Washington, DC and Houston, TX. We retired in 1998-99, moved to Sedona, AZ, and absolutely love it there. We went back to Africa this past year (Namibia, Botswana and South Africa) and a week later I did a Rim to Rim hike in the Grand Canyon. John and I try to go to Europe every year.
Retirement is great, I now can hike, do photography, and travel to my heart's content
