The Way We Are
Family Info: Married to J. Thomas Solano in 1979; divorced in 2001; 1 son – Brian Thomas (26); 1 grandson – Lane Thomas (9 months).
Comments: I received my BS from Penn State and then went straight to Florida State for an MS. I worked two years at Northern Michigan University, before returning to Florida State for a PhD. After receiving my PhD, I remained in Tallahassee for four years working for the Board of Regents for the State University System of Florida. I then married and moved to Jacksonville, Florida where I began teaching computing at the University of North Florida. Now after 33 years in higher education I am approaching retirement. Two more years to go and then I guess I become a fulltime grandmother. I am looking forward to having more free time to devote to my many interests. I am an avid swimmer and cyclist; I enjoy reading and photography; I always have a house full of dogs (currently two Goldens and a Heinz-57 mix); and I have been traveling, most recently to Peru, Alaska, and Egypt.
