Pat was one of my closest friends. We came in second in the “Do Nothing Machine” contest in our senior physics class and always laughed afterwards with the thought, “we was robbed!" I tried to track him down a few years ago – he attended the Naval Academy – and they wrote back saying, “Mr. Ott, It is with great regret to inform you that Lieutenant Patrick Warren O'Neil '70 is deceased… as the result of an aircraft accident at Patuxent River Naval Air Station, MD on June, 13 1978.” Needless to say that is very sad.
