Bruce joined the Police Force in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. He was Asst. Director of Public Safety there. He moved to Melbourne, FL. where he was Chief of Police. While there he designed a new Police Station up to all the new standards and devices.
From Florida, he moved on to be Police Chief in Brattleboro, Vt. and in 1995 he became City Manager in Brattleboro. Bruce died in his sleep at 47 after a most satisfying career in Public Safety. While still living on St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands he took a leave of absence and attended John J. Criminal Law School, where he completed his Masters Degree.
A note to explain his being in the Virgin Islands. His father and I moved to the V.I. in 1966 just as Bruce entered College in Highpoint, N.C. Then when he came to visit us he decided to stay and finish his education at the College of the Virgin Islands, which he did before joining the V. I. Police Academy.
